about

Bang Man is a UK breakcore/jungle producer who has been making a name for himself since the mid-2010s. Cutting his teeth on influential UK label Legs Akimbo and a spate of compilation appearances before releasing on ENDE Records in 2018.
"Bang Time" his latest album is without a doubt his finest yet.
With no particular agenda to his production and sound. Bang Man has created an album that manages to be both breakbeat heavy and defined by the original dark junglist/breakcore style. But also sample driven and humorous at times while still menacing at others.
Kick starting with the intimidating "Pissing Our Pants Yet" a driving reese bass, junglist stomper with a crime theme. "Bang Time" refuses to let up from there. From rolled out dnb and waves of pads on "CPH4 (Original)" to the orchestral amen smasher "Watch The World Burn" to the Star Wars tribute of "The Force" to the old school junglist "Gime A Break". Only industrial hardcore juggernauts "Darkness" and "Plague Of Madness" break from the beats.
One of the most impressive things about "Bang Time" is the quality of production. "I did most of them myself" was the answer we got when we asked about the synthwork, pads and keys. Some absolutely incredible melodies and riffs on display here. Most of which Bang Man wrote himself. On tracks like "Blue Resonance" his collaboration with Sound Souldier. The lush instrumentation is hard to not get lost in...despite the deluge of breakbeats.
Offering an album of danceable, heavy breakcore that pays respect to junglist origins of old. Bang Man has surpassed his critics and naysayers who are still switching styles every 5 minutes to pander to invisible clickbait audiences and made an impressive album and impressive statement to take his place among some of the best breakcore producers in the worldwide scene.
Not since Shitmat's "Full English Breakfast" has there been a collection of breakbeat dancefloor smashers with this much heart.
